Guests and participants discussed current events and the most significant issues in green building, in particular its advantages and prospects of development in Russia and CIS countries. Among the main topics discussed during the even were: economy of means for energy supply of real estate, improving the quality of necessary energy-saving technologies, dialogue with the municipal administrations in matters of energy-efficient construction, etc.

Green Building

This year's Green and Sustainable Real Estate conference was held in the new format – a synthesis of the speakers performances present in the room, and the teleconference with the world's leading experts in the field of green building from Berlin, London, Helsinki, Vienna, Amsterdam and other cities. Participants of the event shared their experiences in the implementation of green projects and presented data from recent international researches on green building.

Daron Rose made a presentation on «Profitability of green building in the hospitality industry» and shared relevant statistics of the American Council on green building (US Green Building Council) and Cornell University School of Hotel Administration. According to Daron, «As world practice shows, reducing energy consumption by 10% alone, increases the ADR level of $ 1.35 for providing a full range of services hotel, and of $ 0.60 for the hotel with limited service. In this case, a green building reduces energy consumption by 30-35% and water consumption by 40%. And in the conditions of constant rise in the cost of natural resources, operational and utility expenses, the implementation of modern energy efficient technologies in the construction and operation of hotel real estate is economically profitable».
